The policy was created to ensure students get enough class time so that they can master the subject being taught. Another key problem with the attendance policy is that it ignores student performance. A student will get an F for missing school even when they have pre-arranged the absence with their teachers, done all the required work ahead of time, and passed all the quizzes, tests and exams clearly demonstrating mastery of the subject. They policy states that if the student does NOT have note from a doctor or an officer of the court then they will lose credit for the class. Any thinking person can clearly see that this is wrong.
